Weiser's got it goin' on!! "We Got Rodeos! Mud Drags! Theater! AND a Crab Feed!"
We Got MUSIC! You might come to Weiser to ‘find your music’ at our annual shindig known as the National Oldtime Fiddle Contest. This happens the third full week in June annually, and we have more than 60 years under our belt. This event pulls in 30,000 - 40,000 people annually, and we like to think our legendary Western hospitality has made every one of them feel welcome.
We Got RODEOS! (Weiser Valley Roundup happens the weekend following the 4th of July every year). Motorized, messy, muddy mayhem is promised at our Mud Drag races (first Saturday in October - if you don't get dirty, you're doing it wrong). TWO talented local theatrical groups, the Illustrious Onionskin Players for good old fashioned melodrama (booing the villain is encouraged) and Weiser Little Theater, who produces some of the best dinner theater-in-the-round experiences anywhere. There's also our annual rockin' crab feed and auction the first Saturday in April at our beautiful Vendome Event Center.
We Got FUN! We offer limitless recreational opportunities whether your passion be hunting, fishing, skiing, off-road fun, hiking, snowmobiling, motorcycling .. Whatever activity interests you, we probably have it.
History buff? You'll want to start at our breathtaking Train Depot and Pythian Castle on one end of town and wind up at the legendary Intermountain Institute campus at the other end featuring Slocum Hall and Hooker Hall. You'll also want to see the Galloway Inn Bed and Breakfast, the Liberty House Bed and Breakfast, and numerous private residences scattered all over our city. We think your inner historian will be well satisfied with what we have to offer.
All of the above, combined with world class shopping and restaurants, the best people anywhere (this includes you), and numerous parks to just hang out and relax in makes for the perfect laid back and as-easygoing-as-you-want-it-to-be family experience!
Come see why “you’re gonna love us!”
